Notes according to §18 Battery Act (BattG)

Since our shipments may contain batteries and rechargeable batteries, we are obliged by the Battery Act (BattG) to inform you of the following:
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return old batteries so that proper disposal can be guaranteed.
You can hand in old batteries at a municipal collection point or to local retailers. As a distributor of batteries, we are also obliged to take back old batteries, whereby our obligation to take them back is limited to old batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our range. You can therefore either return old batteries of the aforementioned type to us sufficiently stamped or drop them off free of charge at our disposal service at the following address:
SofwareFair KSP GmbH
Alte Hellersdorfer Str. 136
12629 Berlin
Open Mon-Sat 9am-6pm

Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out dustbin (see above). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 percent by mass of mercury, more than 0.002 percent by mass of cadmium or more than 0.004 percent by mass of lead, the chemical symbol of the respective pollutant is located below the dustbin symbol.

Where possible, avoid the generation of waste from old batteries. When making your choice, pay attention to rechargeable batteries or batteries with a longer lifespan. Avoid littering public spaces by disposing of batteries correctly instead of leaving them carelessly lying around. Check for possibilities to reuse the battery instead of disposing of it, for example by reconditioning or repairing the battery.
Batteries can contain hazardous chemicals that pollute the environment and endanger the health of humans and animals. Particular caution is advised when handling lithium-containing batteries, as these can also easily ignite and cause fires if handled improperly. Batteries and accumulators that are contained in electrical appliances and can be removed non-destructively must be disposed of separately from them.
To extend the lifespan of rechargeable batteries/accumulators, they should neither be fully charged nor fully discharged. It is recommended to keep the charge level of lithium-ion batteries in the range between 20 and 80 percent to avoid premature wear.
